Enter My Soft World, Rats and Ravens III
Through a pinhole, the hard lines soften. I can see the unusual beauty of a velvet world. The mood softens, much like the images I’m capturing. Looking through a pinhole brings on a sense of nostalgia. Life slows down. Time slows down. Pinhole photography enables me to capture the mood of existence. When viewing my photographs; my hope is that you, the viewer, take with you a small portion of my sentiment.
The Tail End of the Cold War, Rats and Ravens II
Join me within the box of time. Travel back 40 years to the tail end of the cold war. I joined the all volunteer US Army, right out of high school. I also purchased my first camera and began collecting the light of other days. The Iranian Revolution kicked off while I was in basic training and provided the back drop for my limited military service. I have knocked the dust off a collection of degraded color negatives to piece together a few people and places from my past. I explore the concepts of volunteer service, 1980’s photography and photography as my creative outlet. Come; spend a few minutes with me, dwelling in the time of rotary phones, film photography and a cold war. Rats and Ravens 2 is 36 full color pages.
